About the subject:
In Postmodernism, students investigate the revival of painting in the 1980s and the pluralism of approaches to art practice that characterise the contemporary scene. Emphasis is placed on the variety of approaches dominating the current discourse of visual art including deconstruction, post-colonialism, gender and global issues.
Single unit enrolment is welcome. Study units can be completed in any order. There are no study prerequisites. Classes are one session per week. Completion of the two study units Art History 2oth Century and Art History Postmodernism completes the subject requirements for the Diploma of Visual Art and Diploma of Photography.
