About the subject:
In this comprehensive sculpture and Installation subject, students develop fundamental skills in sculpture including modelling in clay and plaster. The use of materials and forms are nurtured through both traditional and alternative approaches to scale, shape, rhythm and dynamic. Students develop a sound knowledge of sculpture practice and ideas as well as contemporary directions in sculpture.
Participants have the opportunity to extend their practice using found materials and other media. Individual approaches are encouraged and teachers provide guidance on developing existing concepts. Sculpture and Installation is suitable for beginners through to experienced participants and those working on developing a folio of work.
Single unit enrolment is welcome. Study units can be completed in any order. There are no study prerequisites. Classes are one session per week. A materials list will be given to students before they start. Completion of the two study units for this subject – Sculpture &
