MARTINA COPLEY / Artist Theory & Practice / Studio Exhibition Project – BA Philosophy, Psychology, Fine Art, Melbourne Uni, Diploma in Education, Monash, BA Photography Victoria College, Art Curatorship & Museum Management Post Grad, Melbourne Uni, Master of Contemporary Art VAC, Phd Candidate VCA. An artist whose multi-disciplinary practice also spans writing. Martina Copley has significant experience as an independent curator of contemporary art in various contexts. Martina is currently the gallery coordinator at BLINDSIDE Artist Run Initiative, PhD of Fine Arts at the Victorian College of the Arts, University of Melbourne.

Calero, Leon 2010
LEON CALERO / IMAGING & GRAPHICS / DESIGN COMMUNICATION / PUBLISHING & PACKAGING/ WEB DESIGN – BA Design (Communication Design), RMIT University 2005. Leon is a practicing graphic designer, established CALERO & CO, a design studio focusing on providing design solutions for the arts sector. Leon has previously taught at I.D.E.A. and Communication Design in the honours and undergrad programs at RMIT University.

JANE COCKS / HEAD OF ART – STUDIO ART / PRACTICE/ DEVELOPMENT/ VENICE AND NEW YORK COORDINATOR – BA (Fine Art) Prahran College,1979; Post Graduate VCA 1983, MFA (Research) RMIT, 1997. Head of Art at LaTrobe College. Has tutored & lectured at VCA , RMIT, Monash, CSU (NSW), ANU (Canberra) since 1988. She was Acting head of Drawing, VCA in 1997 and her roles have included outside assessor for MA students at Monash Uni and VCA . Jane has work included in private and public collections in Europe, Argentina and Australia, including the National Gallery of Victoria. She is a past recipient of the Dame Elizabeth Murdoch Travelling Fellowship and Australia Council Awards.

Soliman, Phil
PHIL SOLIMAN / GRAPHIC DESIGN /PHOTOGRAPHY/ DIGITAL & MOVING IMAGE – BA Multimedia CSU, MA Fine Art RMIT. is a practising artist, designer, photographer and filmmaker based in Melbourne and Sydney. His art practice includes work across a range of visual media, film and performance art. He exhibits in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and New Zealand. He also pursues his design practice through a creative design and marketing agency in Collingwood. His recent teaching experience includes teaching graphic design at RMIT.

Eirth, Merrin 2016 small
MERRIN EIRTH / DRAWING & IDEAS – Merrin Eirth has been exhibiting her work in Australia and Internationally since the early 1980s. She has been awarded several profiled art prizes and artist residencies. Her work has been collected in significant public and private art collections in Australia. Merrin is also a very experienced educator in art at tertiary level. Included in her 22 years of teaching painting and drawing at university art colleges her most recent position was Head of the Drawing School at VCA as well as Under-graduate Coordinator at VCA. She has a Diploma of Teaching and Diploma of Art & Design, Post Graduate Diploma in Fine Art as well as an MFA from Monash University.”

Mark, Michael 2016 small
MICHAEL MARK / HEAD OF PAINTING – ADVANCED PAINTING METHODS / DRAWING/ STUDIO ART/NEW YORK / BERLIN – BA (Fine Art), Occidental College, Los Angeles, CA, 1991, MFA, Boston Museum School of Fine Arts, Boston,1995, PHD, VCA, 2008, TAE40110 Assessment & Training 2013. Lectured at the Savannah College of Art and Design, USA as well as Centre for Ideas VCA and Deakin University. Has had solo shows in New Zealand, Melbourne, University of Illinois and Denver, USA. Has been a recipient of a Fulbright Scholarship to study Rembrandt in Amsterdam in 1997. His work is in collections in Australia, the US and in Europe.

Caitness, Michelle 2018
MICHELLE CAITHNESS/ DRAWING – MA, Visual Art, Coursework Monash University. BA Fine Art (Drawing) Victoria College, Prahran. Grad.Dip.Ed. Hawthorn Institute, Melbourne. Michelle has continued her studio and exhibition practice since graduating in 1990, including over 16 group and solo exhibitions.
Recently, Michelle’s drawings featured at Charles Nodrum Gallery in September 2017; Clive Murray-White/Michelle Caithness: a Collaboration.

Dunn, Lauren feb20
LAUREN DUNN/ VISITING ARTIST /  PHOTOGRAPHY  Lauren Dunn BA Fine Art (honours) Victorian College of the Arts VCA is an artist predominantly working with the politics of the many images surrounding us. Her art works and research take on various material forms such as photography, video, sculpture and writing. Lauren is represented by LON Gallery Melbourne, she is the founder of Melbourne based group The Image Collective and has shown regularly locally and interstate, selected exhibitions include Centre for Contemporary Photography CCP, BUS Projects, Monash Gallery of Art, Kyneton Stockroom and Spring 1883 (Sydney and Melbourne). She currently teachers at RMIT.

Shane Nicholas
SHANE NICHOLAS/ SCULPTURE, STUDIO ART, PHOTOGRAPHY, ART HISTORY BFA VCA 2003, MFA VCA (sculpture and Spatial Practice), Dip Ed University of Melbourne 2007. Shane Nicholas exhibits his work regularly in both solo and group exhibitions nationally. Finalist for the Linden Art Prize 2018, Incinerator Art Prize 2018; won the Peter Redlich Memorial Prize in 2017. Finalist for awards and prizes, including the Kenilworth Painting Prize, the Wilson Visual Art Award and the AME Bale Art Prize. Shane Nicholas is an experienced teacher in visual art for the past eleven years.

JACKIE RALPH / PAINTING – BA Fine Art Victoria College, GDVA & MA Visual Art Victorian College of the Arts, TAE40110 Assessment & Training 2012. Jackie has travelled extensively and lived in London, New York and Japan. Her studio practice encompasses drawing, painting and sculpture. She has taught at Victoria University and LCAD.

BION BALDING / COURSE COORDINATOR/ DRAWING – BA (Fine Art) VCA 2003; CIV TAE40110 Assessment & Training 2013. Founder and Director of LaTrobe College of Art & Design (LCAD) 1995 – solo and group exhibitions in Australia. 1984 Australian Council Owen Tooth studio residency in Vence, France. Winner St Kilda Art Prize 1988. Lecturer in Painting at La Trobe University, Albury Wodonga, 1989-1991. LCAD Coordinator and Directoir since 1995.

JACQUI SHELTON / VISITING ARTIST / PHOTOGRAPHY – Jacqui works has a PhD from MADA, Monash University. She lectures at Monash University in photography and is a tutor in the Master of Media program at RMIT University. She works as a photographer in collaboration with a number of artists and galleries, and has presented exhibitions and performance works throughout Melbourne and Australia.
